Sandy Residents Take Their Self Defense Seriously
Self defense and family safety expert, Brett Lechtenberg, teaches Sandy residents a free hand gun self defense course.
Sandy, UT, March 11, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Last month, 40 residents of Sandy Utah took part in a hand gun self defense course with Utah’s Leading Family Safety Expert, Brett Lechtenberg. The focus of the course was to teach people how to disarm an attacker, armed with a hand gun, when the option of escape is not possible. The course was hosted Tuesday, February 17th at Personal Mastery Martial Arts.
In this workshop participants were trained in a variety of hand gun disarms. They were taken through several drills and scenarios to help them learn and retain the skill of disarming an attacker who has a hand gun. Attendees were then placed in dynamic scenarios designed to recreate the feeling of a hand gun assault while Personal Mastery’s professional staff guided them through successfully dealing with the situations.
“We do not teach people to be heroes and definitely don’t encourage people to do anything stupid if they are confronted by an armed assailant. However, with proper training and fundamental understanding of anatomy and physics, successfully disarming a handgun from an attacker is definitely possible. Our goal is to teach all of our clients how to go home safe to their family every night regardless of how they have to do it,” says tactics instructor Brett Lechtenberg.
The participants of this interactive course had many positive things to say:
“This class was so empowering! Learning how to disarm someone who is pointing a gun in your face made me feel a lot safer in life! I loved Brett, he is an amazing instructor.” – Sarah Subrick
“I liked the class because I learned about disarming someone if I was ever in the situation. My knowledge on that subject went from zero to the point where I now feel like I would have a much better chance of walking away from that situation.” – Mike Nielson
“Attending the hand gun self defense seminar was very worthwhile. It was a fun class and I felt very at ease with the group and the instructor. The instructor was knowledgeable and shared a lot of his expertise with us. Everyone was supportive. I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in learning new skills to protect not only themselves but also potentially protect others too.” – Sue Lane
This month Personal Mastery Martial Arts will be offering two more self defense courses as part of their Open House week from Monday March 23 – Saturday March 28. The Open House is being held to celebrate the fifth year of their Kickboxing program.
