ITL Confirms Majority Share Acquisition of Overheer Systems Ltd
ITL, a market leading global supplier of apparel label solutions strengthens its end to end RFID capabilities via the acquisition of Overheer Systems Ltd, a North American based RFID applications provider who specialize in cloud based inventory accuracy solutions to retail customers around the world.
Cape Town, South Africa, March 10, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The ITL Group, an international retail apparel label solutions company owned by SA Bias Industries, has acquired a majority shareholding in Overheer Systems, a Canadian based RFID software company.
The ITL Group, has been a global supplier of brand labels and variable data printing solutions for over 30 years and has grown to become one of the most respected suppliers in the apparel label sectors.
The group has a well-established network of variable data print service bureaus, positioned in all of the world’s major garment manufacturing locations. In recent years, ITL has focused on developing an RFID capability such that these service bureaus now offer RFID enabled labels in addition to the traditional variable data printed tickets.
Fred Christopher, the ITL Group CEO, explains that “ITL is now turning its attention towards offering a complete end to end RFID solution for retailers. This solution includes retail data integration services, the supply of RFID encoded labels as well as the RFID software used by retailers to derive the business benefits of deploying RFID in the retail supply chain.”
Overheer Systems is a technology company founded and previously owned by Philip Lassner. The company has spent several years developing its Reflect RFID software. Philip will continue to lead Overheer, promoting and developing the Reflect application in conjunction with ITL.
“The acquisition of a majority shareholding in Overheer represents an important component of ITL’s RFID solution,” comments Jeremy Park, CIO of SA Bias Industries. “The Reflect application will be integrated into ITL’s existing LabelVantage IT platform to complete our end to end RFID solution.”
Reflect RFID is a cloud based, item level RFID application which provides retailers with accurate inventory visibility enabling them to effectively monitor and replenish stock. “From the Overheer perspective, we see this deal as unlocking the potential of the Reflect Solution,” says Lassner. “Combining the international service bureau capabilities of ITL, with Overheer’s expertise in retail technology, is an ideal fit for the rapidly expanding RFID market.” He further notes that “Overheer also looks forward to leveraging off ITL’s international sales and marketing presence.”
