GIM Unveils Its Scholarship Schemes for 2015-17, More Than 50 Scholarships to be Won by Meritorious Applicants
Goa Institute of Management has announced its Academic Competence and Excellence Scholarship Scheme (ACCESS) for applicants to the batch 2015-17. Sum of Rs. 2.4 crore allotted as the scholarship fund.
Goa, India, March 13, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Goa Institute of Management has announced its Academic Competence and Excellence Scholarship Scheme (ACCESS) for applicants to the batch 2015-17. While there are around 50 scholarships to be won through the scheme there are also Sir Ratan Tata Scholarships that are meant exclusively for girl students. Together, through these scholarships GIM tries to keep up with its goal to maintain diversity, access and access amongst its students.
According to Prof. Rakesh Shrivastava, Admissions Chairperson, GIM, “Our institute does its best to have meritocracy, gender and ethnic diversity in the classroom. The scholarships have been instated to encourage high performers since they add value to the learning environment and the classroom experience.” The B School then goes on to groom them into leaders of tomorrow, who can contribute towards the society and make the difference.
ACCESS Scholarships create the platform for deserving students to launch their future careers at one of the top rated B Schools in the country. There are 20 scholarships worth Rs. 6 lakhs and 25 scholarships for Rs. 4 lakhs each that applicants can benefit from. Those who have applied for the program and make it through the First Merit List will be eligible for the scholarships, which get disbursed in two installments of 50% each in the two years of the program.
Goa Institute of Management also offers GIM MBBS Scholarship to applicants who hold a MBBS degree and takes admissions to the PGDM in Health Care Management (HCM). GMS includes five scholarships with each amounting to Rs. 4 lakhs.
One has to note that the awardees of the scholarship are not eligible for any other financial concessions or benefits from the institute.
Sir Ratan Tata Scholarships are exclusively meant for girl students, in a bid to maintain gender diversity in the classroom as mentioned earlier. This Merit Scholarship is awarded to two meritorious girl students and is of Rs. 6 lakhs in value. But of course, like the other scholarships, it is subject to good academic performance in terms of CGPA of 5.6 or above at the end of the first year of the program.
Exchange Scholarships with a maximum value of Rs. 2 lakhs are also awarded by the institute to students selected under exchange programme for studies at partner institutions abroad. Overall, these scholarships ensure that meritorious students get their due, and the institute creates a dynamically diverse learning environment.
