Volunteer with Angel Academy
Pella, IA, November 18, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Angel Academy Arts Program for Iowa Children will be opening it's doors early 2008 and they are seeking loving, compassionate and nurturing individuals, with experience in working with children to volunteer their time and/or services with Angel Academy.
Angel Academy is one of the facilities managed by the Guardian Angel, Inc children's foundation of Pella Iowa. They will specialize in utilizing the Arts
as a therapeutic tool to help children and teens express themselves,
grow and/or address issues that they may struggle with.
The children involved will be able to participate in:
Dance (Latin/salsa, jazz, ballroom, ballet, tap)
Drama (theatre and movie production)
Photography
Costume Creation (learn to sew beautiful costumes).
Theatrical Make-up
Via the Angel Academy non-profit program, scholarships will be donated to those children and teens that qualify. The rest of the participants will pay for their involvement. All proceeds from the Angel Academy classes, will be directly contributed to Guardian Angel, Inc to help fund all of their programs.
Angel Academy will also be home to the new Life Change Ballroom Program which teaches Ballroom dancing to fifth-graders.
The Life Change Ballroom Program will take place in only certain Elementary schools of Des Moines during it's inception, and they will add more schools as funding allows and need dictates. The objective of this mentoring program will be to teach fifth Graders the Art of Ballroom Dancing in order to reduce behavioral outbursts, improve educational performance and help children work well with their peers.
If you and/or your organization wish to cover the cost for a particular school,
you may sponsor a school for 6 months at $2,500 This will allow 40 children to participate in the program. Even if you are unable to sponsor a school, even the smallest donations from several caring individuals can certainly help in gathering the required amount.
