Merry Tuba Christmas at Glendale's Historic Alex Theatre

Sunday, December 2, 2007 at 7:30 P.M.
Doors open at 7:00 P.M.
The annual Merry Tuba Christmas event at the Alex Theatre (216 North Brand Blvd.) features hundreds of tuba and euphonium players of all ages from throughout Southern California. Song sheets will be distributed and the audience is encouraged to sing along. Special guests include the Tubadours, comprised of professional musicians from Los Angeles, and a special visit by Santa Claus. This holiday favorite is perfect for the entire family.
Merry Tuba Christmas conductors include Jim Self, Steve Klein, and Tim O’Brien.
Merry Tuba Christmas performances take place each year in over 170 cities throughout the United States and in several foreign countries. Harvey Phillips created Merry Tuba Christmas in 1973 to honor his teacher, the late William J. Bell, and the American composer Alec Wilder arranged traditional Christmas music especially for the occasion.
Santa Claus’ visit is being generously sponsored by Wackos, Inc. and Jonnathon Cripple have been providing zany entertainment to special events for some 30 years. They have a very special relationship with Santa as well as Mrs. Claus and the Elves and have provided them for many ‘surprise’ visits to Private Homes as well as Corporate Events throughout the Southland and abroad.
