Mellon and Spyrides Group Introduce an Advanced Pay-at-the-Pump Solution for Fuel Service Stations in Greece Using Ingenico iSelf Smart Terminals
Securing fuel dispensing at the pump and enabling 24/7 transactions will improve both productivity and customer satisfaction.
Athens, Greece, March 19, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Mellon Technologies, parent company of Mellon Group of Companies, Spyrides Group and Ingenico Group announce the extension of their cooperation in the area of fuel service station automation with an advanced pay-at-the-pump solution. The first installations of the integrated unattended payment system are already taking place at selected petrol stations in Greece. The terminals are installed on the fuel islands, ensuring proximity, safety and speed in fueling service.
More specifically, Mellon has integrated the advanced iSelf Ingenico unattended smart terminals to the next generation fuel pumps manufactured by Spyrides Group. The terminals accept all cashless payment methods at the pump (contact and contactless), as well as loyalty and fleet cards enabling fully integrated secure payment and loyalty features at the pump.
Securing fuel dispensing at the pump and enabling 24/7 transactions will improve both productivity and customer satisfaction. The introduction of the self-serve facility to the service stations adds to the convenience of motorists, who can meet their fuel requirements with increased speed and safety, as they do not have to leave their vehicle or wait for the next available staff. Even during late-hours, when there is no staff at the station, motorists can still fill-up their vehicles at their station of choice, boosting at the station’s sales and profitability.
The solution presented is enhanced by a pump-activation option that uses contactless tag bracelets. With the tag bracelets, the petrol station attendants can activate the pumps without the need to enter their code number. This way service time is reduced, human error is minimized, while the back end system accurately registers the pump activity per attendant.
"Smart transactions are becoming relevant to more and more sectors. Mellon’s deep understanding of the Greek transactions market along with Ingenico’s state-of-the-art terminals and the expertise of Spyrides Group in fuel service station automation, underline our commitment to provide innovative solutions aiming to improve competitiveness and customer experience," commented Manos Perdikaris, Business Unit Manager at Mellon Technologies.
“Ingenico Group is proud having been selected by Mellon Technologies and Spyrides Group to equip pay-at-pump installation with its iSELF product range. This perfectly illustrates our ability to help our customers to provide the best suited solutions to their evolving needs and to contribute to enhance their interactions with customers,” said Luciano Cavazzana, Italy, Eastern Europe and Africa Managing Director, Ingenico Group.
