Illinois Student Production to be Broadcast Nationwide
One Fine Day! Is an entirely student produced and financed mini-series from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. The mini-series creators, seniors Derek Klein and Marc Morin Jr. of Premonition Pictures, have reached broadcast agreements with Columbia University’s CTV in New York and a nation wide student production network OSTV.
Las Angeles, CA, November 19, 2007 --(PR.com)-- One Fine Day! is an independent student production that revolves around the lives of four resident advisors in a fictional campus dormitory. Production on the mini-series began back in September and since then the cast and crew have released four of their planned six episodes.
The show is broadcast over the Internet at a variety of video websites such as YouTube.com and Dailymotion.com, and soon on the UIUC’s closed circuit network, illiniTV, run by Residential Life. Recently creators Klein and Morin have begun contacting a variety of campuses nationwide in an attempt to get airtime for the series on the various campus closed circuit networks. Columbia University’s CTV was among the first to respond and has agreed to air the six episodes. OSTN, an intercollegiate IPTV network has also agreed to carry series in their lineup that reaches 4500 campuses worldwide. Klein and Morin are also in talks with other campus’ networks such as Ohio State University’s Buckeye TV and Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Television.
The series itself is entirely financed by creators Derek Klein and Marc Morin. The cast and crew are working on a voluntary basis (meaning no monetary reimbursement for the actors or crew) though actors were asked to sign on for a six-episode commitment.
The original goal of One Fine Day! was to allow students hands on production experience, both behind and in front of the camera. The small cast and crew have committed to output five 22-minute episodes and a sixth 44-minute conclusion to their series. Currently, they have completed and released four of the 22-minute episodes and with the fifth due for release November 29th per their bi-weekly schedule.
For more information, please feel free to view the online production blog at http://onefinedaytv.blogspot.com. Episode one, two, three, and four are online there for viewing and as previously stated, Episode 5 should be released 11/29/2007.
