Kelli and Kelly Books for Kids Will Present "I Am NOT Selling My Tooth!" at Sugar Shak by the Sea, Everett, Wash. (3/22): "Helps Children Let Go of Fear"
Artists Co-op, Sugar Shak by the Sea in Everett, Wash., will host a fun family event with Kelli Nielsen (Author) and Kelly Hawkins (Illustrator) of Kelli and Kelly Books for Kids, who will read and sign their newest book, "I Am NOT Selling My Tooth!” Sun., March 22 (5–6pm): "For locals to shop local."
Everett, WA, March 19, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Sugar Shak by the Sea in Everett, Wash. will host a fun family event with Kelli Nielsen (Author) and Kelly Hawkins (Illustrator) of Kelli and Kelly Books for Kids, who will read and sign their newest book, "I Am NOT Selling My Tooth!” Sun., March 22 (5–6pm).
Sugar Shak's coordinator, Liz Myers, noted that the artists co-op invited Nielsen because she lives in the area, and Sugar Shak wants to support local artists. “This book is fabulous and would make a perfect gift for grandchildren,” said Myers, who is also a grandmother.
“We are thrilled to participate in an event that supports local business people,” said Nielsen. “And we look forward to sharing this book with kids and adults. Our goal as publishers is to bring quality children’s books to market.”
The Mom Publishers were recently guests on Seattle’s “New Day” TV talk show (NBC). “New Day” noted that this book “takes aim at the Tooth Fairy” and said it “perfectly sums up a child's mixed feelings about losing a tooth. (The book) ends up being a touching look at children's fears of letting go of their childhood.”
“We are grateful to Sugar Shak for giving us this opportunity to share our new book in a venue that focuses on promoting artists and their art,” said Hawkins who will be conducting children's art workshops at Skagit Valley College during its annual Young Authors Conference.
Kelli and Kelly Books for Kids has been invited for Artists-in-Residence Day by the Seattle Children’s Museum, and will facilitate storytelling and art activities May 16.
Skagit County natives and longtime friends, Nielsen and Hawkins said their own children refused to sell their baby teeth and still have them in souvenir bags. "They never stop inspiring us," said Nielsen with a smile.
