Award Winning Film-Maker/Play-Writer Derrell Lawrence is Back with Highly Anticipated "Mega-Hit" Stage Play "Life Isn’t FAIR"
North Charleston, SC, March 25, 2015 --(PR.com)-- South Carolina, are you ready to witness a stage production by Award Winning Film-Maker/Play-Writer Derrell Lawrence? Before gaining national attention from sold-out bookings of stage play “Do You Trust Your Best Friend,” Lawrence (a multi-talented): actor, filmmaker, writer, director, executive producer and upcoming author, earned several awards for film “Life Isn’t Fair” including: “The Highest Achievement for New Filmmaker” at the Jokara-Micheaux Video and Film Festival in Georgia, and both the “Silver Award” and “People’s Choice Award” from the Philadelphia International Film Festival and Market. Therefore, it should come as no surprise Lawrence is back with his newest production stage play, “Life Isn’t Fair.” This powerfully emotional drama shows life in “Real-Time” of a man (or woman’s) struggle between good and evil, right and wrong and the role of “Will Power.” Lawrence says, “In Romans 7:21-22 of the Bible (NKJV) it states, ‘For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want. But if I am doing the very thing I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.’ I could not have explained the premise of this creation better.” Lawrence continues, “One might think it is easy to live and do right. However, for Ricky Jones, it’s been everything but.” Forced to deal with tragedy at a young age and overcoming bad choices in his life, Jones understood who really has kept him. He wants to give his life to Christ, but he also understands that the devil is always at work and attacking you at your weakest moments. Come out and be a witness as Jones struggles at the crossroads of being God’s Child or Satan’s Angel (a battle we all have experienced). The star-studded cast includes: Grammy Award Winning Singer/Actress Ann Nesby, Internally known Actor John Canada Terrell (She’s Gotta Have It, My Brother Marvin, Mo Betta Blues, Boomerang, Five Heartbeats and much more), legendary Actor Matthew Nadu (most known for Water Nation Warrior in M. Night Shyamalan's “The Last Airbender”, Booted, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Spin City, Jackass and more), Charleston’s own critically acclaimed Actor Henry Clay Middleton (featured in: Army Wives, Payback, Domestic Maneuvers, etc.), R & B Singer/Actor Tony Terry (balladeer known for his wedding anthem “When I’m With You” and his acting chops in many national plays), Model/Actress Roni Graham, Actress/Model/Director Alisha Dominique with Derrell Lawrence rounding out this amazingly talented ensemble. This production runs April 10-11 at: Family Life Center, 7396 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston- South Carolina, 29406. Doors open at 6:30p.m. (Play starts at 7:30p.m.).
