GO2 Advertising and Marcus Thomas Partner to Support St. Baldrick’s Foundation in the Bald Twin Challenge

Ad agencies in Cleveland suburbs partner to raise funds for childhood cancer research grants in support of identical twin employees.

Twinsburg, OH, March 25, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Two premier ad agencies in Northeast Ohio – GO2 Advertising and Marcus Thomas – have announced their shared efforts in driving donations for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants. Identical twins Katherine Fertig, Account Manager at GO2 Advertising, and Carolyn Fertig, Digital Producer at Marcus Thomas, will be participating in a local St. Baldrick’s Foundation signature head-shaving event. They will brave the shave on April 11 at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN.

“Carolyn and I discovered that the organization hit a little close to home. Our twin community is very tight and we know a set of twins who have benefited from research that was funded by St. Baldrick’s,” said Katherine Fertig. “We are thrilled to be standing bald and proud for such a wonderful cause.”

With each twin supported by her respective agency, The Bald Twin Challenge has been established. GO2 Advertising (@GO2Advertising) and Marcus Thomas (@MTCareerCoaches) have built social media campaigns around this friendly competition to see which twin will garner the most donations ahead of the event. The ultimate goal for the Bald Twin Challenge is to raise funds and awareness for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and their mission to conquer childhood cancers.

Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has funded more than $154 million in childhood cancer research grants. Last year, 57,000 participants braved the shave at more than 1,300 events throughout the country and raised over $38 million.
