Local Realtors to Sponsor 5th Annual Thornwood Park Egg Hunt
Local realtors host 5th Annual Thornwood Park Egg Hunt. The event bolsters community spirit and gives neighbors the chance to gt "re-acquainted" after a long, cold winter.
Wilmette, IL, March 26, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Paula Weiss and Anne West of Coldwell Banker’s Come Home North Shore Team will once again play host as they sponsor the 5th Annual Thornwood Park Egg Hunt. This annual rite of spring is a wonderful celebration of the Wilmette community and hopefully warmer weather.
“I live and work in the Kenilworth Gardens neighborhood, so this is one of the ways we give back to our community,” said Anne West, co-leader of Coldwell Banker’s Come Home North Shore Team. "The kids really enjoy it and the parents are so appreciative that we do this event for the neighborhood."
The Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, April 4th at Thornwood Park (2400 Thornwood Ave., catty-corner from the Harper School). Event festivities officially kick-off at 9:45 am when attendees can meet the Easter Bunny, guess the number of jelly beans in the jar and enter a drawing for prizes from local businesses, such as The Noodle Cafe, Homer’s Ice Cream, The Rock House and Domino’s Pizza. The hunt itself, which is for children ten and under, starts at 10 am sharp. If history repeats itself, the mad dash for eggs will be over quickly so hunters are encouraged to arrive on time and must bring their own baskets. After hunting for eggs, each child gets a prize from the grab bag. Those who find one of the five golden eggs will get a special prize.
“It’s a wonderful event that truly bolsters the community spirit,” said Vera Holroyd, a local resident. “The kids look forward to this egg hunt every year. And so do the adults. Especially after a long winter, it’s nice to get outside and re-connect with all our neighbors.”
