The Cat Care Society's annual benefit, Tails of the Painted Cats, returns for its fifth consecutive year to raise funds for the shelter’s homeless cats and community outreach programs. Artists and sponsors have been finalized for the 2015 event, with the finished works of art set to debut at the Lakewood Arts Council Gallery on June 4. The painted “cats-terpieces” will tour several communities throughout the summer, before being auctioned off at the Tails of the Painted Cats Gala on October 10.

Lakewood, CO, March 26, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Cat Care Society's (CCS) annual benefit, Tails of the Painted Cats, returns for its fifth consecutive year to raise funds for the shelter’s homeless cats and community outreach programs. Artists and sponsors have been finalized for the 2015 event, with the finished works of art set to debut at the Lakewood Arts Council Gallery on June 4. The painted “cats-terpieces” will tour several Front Range communities throughout the summer, before being auctioned off at the Tails of the Painted Cats Gala on October 10 at Pinehurst Country Club. CBS4 weather and news anchor, Ed Greene, returns this year as Master of Ceremonies, joined by former-Mayor of Cherry Hills Village, Doug Tisdale, as auctioneer. Renowned Colorado plein-air and studio landscape artist, Cheryl St. John, served as jurist for this year’s Tails of the Painted Cats.

“We have a long list of wonderful artists and sponsors who have all committed to sharing their time, talent and resources with us this year and we’re thrilled to be kicking off Tails of the Painted Cats season in Colorado,” said CCS board president Diane Stoner. “This event is so special and unique and truly is the Cat Care Society’s signature fundraising event.”

Tails of the Painted Cats 2015 will feature 23 one-of-a-kind fiberglass cats, expertly painted by accomplished local artists. As in past years, all but one cat will be available for auction – both online and at the gala – with a special, featured cat that can be purchased by raffle only. This year’s raffle cat, “Dale Cat-Huly,” was created by artist Carla Pawlewicz. For a first look at artist sketches of this year’s painted cats, visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcWjV94n8Lc.

The Cat Care Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for homeless, injured and abused cats in the Denver metropolitan area. In an effort to prevent animal neglect and abuse, CCS offers educational programs that promote responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of all animals; provides shelter for cats in a healthy, cage-free environment; and works to find compatible families for every feline that comes into the facility. The shelter provides a loving, temporary refuge for more than 50 cats at any given time, affordable veterinary services to the general public and a free food and litter bank for cat owners experiencing temporary financial challenges.
