WNSC Holds Annual Fashion Show

Oswestry, United Kingdom, March 28, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Walford and North Shropshire College’s (WNSC) Commercial Services Department held its annual fashion show recently, the show involved students from Hospitality and Catering, Hair and Beauty and Construction. The Spring Fashion Collection from Dorothy Perkins was provided to the College for use by the models, the store is celebrating 100 years of business. The 100 years gave the students inspiration to create images for each decade for the first part of the show, the 1940’s image is very iconic. For the second part of the show, the students created avante garde looks themed by country, the USA took inspiration from Katy Perry’s costume in the music video for ‘California Girls’.

Sharon Cooper, Head of Commercial Services at WNSC, commented, "It was an extremely successful evening for learners across the Commercial Services Department, Hair and Beauty; Hospitality and Catering; and Construction students all contributed to make the evening such a success. We are grateful to Dorothy Perkins for supporting the event by providing their Spring Fashion Collection, the evening allowed students to demonstrate their skills across all areas."

The hair, make-up and costumes were put together by Hair and Beauty students, a lot of hard work went into creating the amazing looks visitors got to see. Hospitality and Catering students working WNSC’s training restaurant, Scholars, served a delicious two-course meal to guests. The event gave students from Hair and Beauty and Hospitality and Catering the perfect opportunity to exhibit their skills. £500 was raised from ticket sales and a raffle held on the night. All proceeds were donated to Severn Hospice.
