Avesta Advances to State Maintenance Mania Competition

Tampa, FL, March 28, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Representatives of Avesta Communities finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th overall in an area wide maintenance competition. The competition, hosted by the Bay Area Apartment Association, was held on March 3, 2015. Several of Avesta's maintenance technicians competed in Maintenance Mania, and proved that Avesta's teammates are some of the most talented in the Tampa region. Migel Robles placed 2nd overall, Erik Norling placed 3rd overall, and Kurt Aaron placed 4th.

Auggie Salgado, Regional Service Foreman for Tampa Bay, notes, "In this industry everybody knows everybody, so this is more like a maintenance reunion. This was a great opportunity for Avesta to network in general. People see that we are very united and they want to be a part of it. With regard to the competition itself, it was great to see us win. Let's face it, everybody wants bragging rights. I was very happy to see three of our guys in the top five."

Maintenance Mania is a nationally recognized maintenance competition. Competitors are scored on how quickly and skillfully they can complete each maintenance-related task. Events include water heater installation, faucet installation, icemaker installation, fire/carbon monoxide safety installation, ceiling fan installation, duo flush toilet conversion, and a model race car competition. In order for the competitors to place in the “overall” category, they must compete in every event.

Migel Robles, Erik Norling, and Kurt Aaron will represent Avesta at the State Maintenance Mania and vie for a chance to compete at the National Championship in Las Vegas.
