Non-Fiction Compilation "Surviving Cancer: Our Voices & Choices" Wins New Apple Book Award for Excellence in Independent Publishing

Together, the 70 contributing authors in Surviving Cancer: Our Voices & Choices provide a compilation of information that helps ease the path every cancer patient walks. Our “Cancer Team” of survivors, family doctors, oncologists, oncology social workers, health care providers, organization leaders, members, and financial advisors share their “voices and choices” in the cancer process. Survivor’s stories often support a medical perspective. Many doctors and survivors also encourage early detection wishing to avoid the complications of cancers that have been allowed to grow and metastasize. Through the voices of those who have “taken the journey,” the book offers tremendous hope and comfort and helps reduce fear for newly-diagnosed cancer patients and their families. About the Author
As a result of her radiation treatment, after an operation for a small cancer, Marion Behr created a collection of 35 sculptures using radiation cradles as armatures. They reflect the moods of women on the cancer journey. After a panel discussion at an exhibition at the second show (Image Early) Marion was moved to compile “Surviving Cancer: Our Voices & Choices” (WWH Press LLC). Five years were spent compiling this book which now includes 69 other authors who form a very experienced cancer team. Previously Marion initiated the first national study of women who worked at home, testified before Congress about that and co- wrote “Women Working Home: The Home Based Business Guide and Directory“ which sold 50,000 copies in two editions. She received a Presidential appointment as a delegate to the White House conference on Small Business. Marion co-invented and patented an acid free etching process (ElectroEtch) for which she was awarded a grant from the Lindbergh Foundation. The process has been taught in several countries and US universities. She won her first national art competition at age 7 and has been producing art ever since. Paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints. Profiled in Inc., Changing Times, McCall’s, Vogue, Working Woman, Entrepreneur, New Woman, Family Circle, and Redbook. Extensive radio and TV appearances including Donahue, Good Morning America and AMs (New York, San Francisco, Minneapolis, etc.) and Woman to Woman. Visual arts and writing are a huge part of her life as are her husband Marc for 52 years, her three children and five grandchildren.
