Collaborative Art Project Takes Shape at WNSC

Oswestry, United Kingdom, April 02, 2015 --(PR.com)-- A Collaborative art project started recently, with art A Level students from Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC) taking part in a ceramics workshop with participants at Designs In Mind at their studio in town. The workshop has been inspired by artist Mitsy Sleurs and her project ‘99 feelings’, students and members of Designs in Mind were taught hand building skills to make a clay egg, each egg was then adapted with a specific feeling in mind. Hope, happiness, fear and anger were some of the emotions which inspired the cutting, carving and shaping of the eggs. There are two more workshops planned to produce more eggs which will then form an art installation.

WNSC Foundation Diploma in Art and Design student, Joe Cooke, commented "I enjoyed taking part in the ceramics workshop with the members of Designs in Mind, I did not know much about the group and so the project has enabled me to see other ways art is used within the community."

Jo from Designs in Mind commented "This is an exciting initiative coming from the College for the students to work in the community. We are happy to host this project as it has enabled our members to meet first and second year design students, work jointly on a creative project and exchange ideas.’ A participant from Designs in Mind commented ‘It was great to work alongside art students, we shared ideas and techniques, I’m looking forward to next week."
