South Nassau Communities Hospital to Host Information Night About Expanding Medical Services in Long Beach

Oceanside, NY, April 04, 2015 --(PR.com)-- South Nassau Communities Hospital encourages residents of Long Beach and surrounding South Shore communities to attend its second in a series of information sessions to preview its plans to provide additional healthcare services on the barrier island.

The information session will be held Thursday, April 9 from 6-8PM at the Long Beach Public Library at 111 W. Park Avenue, Long Beach. More than 100 residents attended South Nassau’s first information session held March 18 at the Long Beach Hotel. Some residents requested an evening session and South Nassau officials are responding to meet that need.

The Information Night will feature a series of visual displays that residents may view while speaking one-on-one with South Nassau medical and administrative staff. Staff will be available throughout the evening, so residents may arrive at any time during the session.

In addition to providing detailed information about South Nassau’s plan to build a two-story, 30,00 square-foot Medical Arts Pavilion on the site of the former Long Beach Medical Center, the session will highlight the $5 million upgrade and expansion of South Nassau’s Long Beach Urgent Care Center to a temporary off-campus, hospital-based 9-1-1 receiving Emergency Department by July 1. The new Medical Arts Pavilion, which could be expanded to add a third floor if needed, will become the permanent home of the Emergency Department once construction is completed.

South Nassau experts will also be available throughout the session to answer residents’ questions about the severe structural and mechanical damage to the former Long Beach Medical Center, building demolition process, and preliminary plans for former Long Beach Medical Center site and the delivery of medical and healthcare services.
