Give Me Shelter Cat Rescue Changes the Adoption Landscape
Give Me Shelter is a game changer in changing the adoption approach. Petco Foundation, Give Me Shelter and KitTea Bring First Cat Café to San Francisco.
San Francisco, CA, April 04, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Petco Foundation, adoption affiliate Give Me Shelter, and The Blue Buffalo Company help change national consciousness about the value of pets in society through KitTea.
Who: Give Me Shelter Cat Rescue, KitTea, San Francisco’s first cat cafe, is excited to announce a partnership with The Petco Foundation, local nonprofit cat rescue Give Me Shelter, and The Blue Buffalo Company.
What:
- A grant of $150,000 to Give Me Shelter Cat Rescue from the Petco Foundation will be used to build out the cat space within KitTea, including furniture, toys, and bedding designed to engage cats and ensure their health and happiness until they find permanent homes.
- Give Me Shelter, a local nonprofit cat rescue and foster organization, will select the cats to be fostered at the cafe and will supply volunteers to facilitate onsite adoptions.
- The Blue Buffalo Company will provide KitTea with supplies for the cats, including litter and wet food, when the cafe opens.
Where: 96 Gough, San Francisco, CA 94102
When: KitTea plans to open in late April/early May. There are a few forthcoming announcements, including:
- The cafe’s soft opening for crowdsourcing campaign contributors and how to redeem your preopening reservation;
- When the cafe’s online reservation system will open to the general public;
- Opening day and the opening night events.
