Film and Television Indie Competition in Miami Heats up with Announcement of this year's line up of Judges.

Miami, FL, April 07, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The 2nd Annual Miami Web Fest Competition scheduled September 25-October 4, 2015 in Miami sports an unprecedented prestigious line up of judges for this year’s competitions. Confirmed judges include but are not limited to: Jay Francis, Walt Disney Studios, Robert Parigi, ABC-Marvel, John Attanasio, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Sebastian Snaider, Fox Broadcasting Company, Tawnya Bhattacharka, NBC TV Network, Danielle Escasena, Home Box Office (HBO), Diego Lopez Calvo, Discovery Networks, Mike Timm, Universal Studios, Amy Heller, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Christian Poccard, Eurochannel, Lorenzo Muscoso, Dreamworld Pictures, and more. A full list is available on the website at www.miamiwebfest.com.

"What makes this festival unique and cutting edge is our judges. No other web series competition in the world offers indie filmmakers such an extensive and prestigious set of eyes to view and judge their content. These are people who can actually get filmmakers to the next level in their careers,” comments Founder Bryan Thompson. “To add even more dimension we combine the traditional film festival concept (screenings, panels, and awards) with the ‘Screen Bash’ concept, where web series content is shown in the City’s hottest clubs. Miami's multicultural artistic and ‘hip’ environment provides an inspiring backdrop. These two elements allow Miami Web Fest to create meaningful opportunities for filmmakers as we discover and expose new talent for the global market," adds Thompson.

Web Series Festivals or “Web Fests” are indie film festivals dedicated to online series known as “web series." This trend is led by Netflix with their award-winning series “House of Cards” and “Orange is the New Black," original programs that can only be viewed online. Web Fests began in Los Angeles in the late 90’s and today there are about 30 of the events throughout the world. Miami Web Fest takes the entire process to another level by involving mainstream TV/Film executives in what has traditionally been a “strictly indie” marketplace.

Judges will review submissions in three categories: Music Videos, Worldwide Web Series, and Latino Web Series. Competitions in all the categories include: Best in Festival, Edu-tainment, Soap Opera, Spanish, Animation, Comedy, Action/Adventure, Mystery/Thriller, Horror, Drama, Reality, Romantic, Documentary/Non Fiction, Fantasy/Science-Fiction, Love, Action, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Directing, Screenwriting, Cinematography, Visual Effects, Editing, and Music/Score. Deadline to submit is July 31, 2015. The cost is $90 per submission.

Sponsorships and cross promotional opportunities are still available. For more information, visit www.miamiwebfest.com.
