Come watch her perform with members of the Gypsy Stage Repertory Theater (based in Dunedin) in a one-of-a-kind show that answers questions like – What happens when an attractive, naïve, virginal, young Army girl deploys to war with thousands of eager, testosterone-laden men? Be regaled with true stories of Laura’s militarily influenced coming-of-age, starting with West Point – or what she fondly describes as the world’s biggest sausage fest. Then hear all about how the Iraq war ironically catalyzed her own sexual liberation, after being religiously repressed for her entire life. War Virgin is also a story of triumph and redemption over the demand and need to be perfect, which started in early childhood.
Laura is also writing a memoir entitled, War Virgin and is devoted to teaching the public about the often overlooked, human and funny sides to serving in the military. She hopes her story of liberation will inspire everyone to embark on their own journeys of liberation.
