akvola Technologies is Looking for Pilot Projects and Partners for Long-Term Commercial-Scale Tests of Their akvoFloat™ Technology
akvola Technologies has successfully completed two pilot tests of its technology for two different applications: one for SWRO pretreatment, and the second one for oilfield produced water treatment; akvola Technologies is looking for pilot sites and partners for long-term commercial-scale tests in the above-mentioned applications or other applications that call for de-oiling and/or removal of fine suspended particles.
Berlin, Germany, April 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Berlin-based water technology startup akvola Technologies will introduce two novel water treatment systems at this year’s Wasser Berlin 2015. akvola designs, installs and markets package water clarification systems based on its proprietary technology akvoFloat™. This innovative ceramic flotation-filtration process provides high quality water with up to 90% lower energy consumption and 20% lower footprint than state-of-the-art technologies.
akvola will present two products based on their akvoFloat process addressing two different markets:
· akvoDeOil for produced water treatment: Compact mobile water treatment systems –based on the akvoFloat™ ceramic flotation-filtration process– designed to completely remove all traces of oil & grease, suspended solids and bacteria from produced water and oily wastewater. akvoDeOil integrates both secondary and tertiary treatment (de-oiling and polishing) in one single device offering lower lifecycle costs.
· akvoPre for seawater desalination pretreatment: Compact mobile water treatment systems –based on the akvoFloat™ ceramic flotation-filtration process– designed to completely remove all traces of organics (e.g. algae) and suspended solids from hard-to-treat seawater prior to desalination. akvoPre is a one-stop solution that enables small-scale desalination plants to remain operational even during low seawater quality events (e.g. algae blooms).
akvola Technologies has already successfully completed two pilot tests of its technology for two different applications: one for SWRO pretreatment, and the second for oilfield produced water. Lucas León, the company’s co-founder and head of business development, said that the results of the eight-month seawater pilot test have led to scheduling a 100 m3/d SWRO pilot test in the UAE to be conducted with a local partner in Q2 2015.
“We are currently looking for pilot sites and partners for long-term, and larger-scale tests in both SWRO and produced water markets,” said León, “as well as exploring other applications with industrial wastewater.”
The Wasser Berlin 2015 took place on March 24-27, 2015 in Berlin and the Hannover Messe takes place on April 13-17, 2015 in Hannover. You can visit akvola Technologies at their booth:
