Fallen Hero 5K™ Run to be Held on April 18, 2015 at Powder Springs, GA

Atlanta, GA, April 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Fallen Hero 5K™ Run will be held on April 18, 2015 at the Lost Mountain Baptist Church on 5400 Old Dallas Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127. Registration will begin at 7:00 AM and the run commences at 8:00 AM. The Fallen Hero 5K™ Run is held annually honoring fallen law enforcement heroes. Proceeds from the run will benefit Hunting For Heroes and Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). Hunting For Heroes is a national organization that provides recreational therapy and counseling for law enforcement officers severely injured in the line of duty. Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) is a national non-profit to help families of law enforcement officers who die in the line of duty and co-workers cope with the tragic loss and also provides resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives. There are still opportunities to be a vendor at the race. “Law enforcement officers are the true heroes of daily life,” said Lance LoRusso, Principal of the Lo Russo Law Firm P.C., author of the book, "When Cops Kill," and one of the Run’s sponsors. “Everyday they don their uniforms and neither they nor their families know if they will return home safely.

“Tragically, too many fall in the line of duty with this becoming a too common occurrence,” continued LoRusso. “This race is dedicated to the memories of those who have fallen in the line of duty protecting us and for their families.”

Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) was organized in 1984 with 110 individual members. Today C.O.P.S. membership is over 30,000 families. Members include spouses, children, parents, siblings, significant others, and affected co-workers of officers killed in the line of duty according to Federal government criteria. C.O.P.S. is governed by a National Board of law enforcement survivors. All programs and services are administered by the National Office in Camdenton, Missouri. C.O.P.S. has over 50 Chapters nationwide that work with survivors at the grass-roots level.

Hunting For Heroes is a national organization that provides recreational therapy and counseling for law enforcement officers severely injured in the line of duty. Disabled law enforcement officers often do not have medical or disability benefits and are sometimes dismissed from their departments when they can no longer perform their duties. Hunting For Heroes comes in and helps these officers. The organization is entirely supported by donations.
