Long Island Real Estate Group Supports South Nassau Communities Hospital's Renovation Project
The renovation is part of a continuation of South Nassau’s master facility plan to meet the communities’ rising need for patient-centered, advanced medical and surgical care.
Oceanside, NY, April 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Long Island Real Estate Group (LIREG) recently donated $30,000 to South Nassau Communities Hospital in support of the renovation and modernization of one of the hospital’s medical-surgical patient care units.
The renovation is part of a continuation of South Nassau’s master facility plan to meet the communities’ rising need for patient-centered, advanced medical and surgical care for chronic diseases, ranging from cancer to cardiovascular disease, and debilitating musculoskeletal injuries.
“LIREG is recognized for its support of charitable programs and services that provide vital services and solutions for the range of issues and problems facing the region,” said Richard Murphy, president and CEO at South Nassau. “We are grateful to LIREG’s leaders and members for their generosity and support to meet the need for high-quality, patient-centered healthcare services in the South Shore communities we serve."
The renovated unit, F1, features 23 private beds and utilizes the latest in hospital design to promote an environment for patient healing and safety. The unit also includes advanced cardiac monitoring equipment, wireless communications, computerized electronic medical records, and a leading edge medication distribution management system. This automated dispensing system streamlines communication and medication management between the nursing and pharmacy staff, augmenting patient safety and South Nassau’s high standards in the delivery of patient care.
LIREG is the Nassau-Suffolk region's fastest-growing real estate organization, providing the real estate industry and allied trades a platform for real estate-related charitable giving and networking. Opportunities for networking include educational programs, breakfasts, cocktail parties and other social events. LIREG also has sub-groups for women and for young professionals.
”LIREG is proud to support South Nassau Communities Hospital and recognizes the vital role they play in supporting the community,” said Peter Schapero, Co-President of LIREG. “We receive many grant requests for real estate related projects on Long Island and through a heavy vetting process, this project stood out for its merit.”
