Grand Pacific Resorts Sponsors Student at American Resort Development Association Conference (ARDA World 2015)
Carlsbad, CA, April 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Grand Pacific Resorts (GPR), one of California’s largest and oldest timeshare development and management companies, is showing its support for ARDA (American Resort Development Association) with a student sponsorship through the ARDA International Foundation (AIF). The scholarship enables a student to attend the ARDA World 2015 Convention & Expo at the Orlando World Center Marriott April 12-16.
“By helping to underwrite one of the scholarships offered for students to attend the upcoming Convention we are furthering our commitment to the industry’s university outreach program,” said Nigel Lobo, COO of Grand Pacific Resort Management who chairs ARDA’s Education Committee.
Each year, the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), the trade association which represents the timeshare vacation ownership and resort development industry, holds ARDA World, the annual gathering of timeshare professionals. AIF (ARDA International Foundation) provides training to the industry through a variety of designation programs, university partnerships, and educational courses. Through scholarship programs, in particular, both professors and students gain networking opportunities with industry leaders.
Grand Pacific Resorts is an active member of ARDA which has almost 1,000 corporate members ranging from privately held firms to publicly traded corporations with extensive experience in shared ownership interests in leisure real estate. In addition to the AIF sponsorship, Grand Pacific is committed to the TIYP (Timeshare Industry Young Professionals) group for ARDA members who are no longer in college (undergraduate level) up to age 35. This group was created to provide opportunities to grow careers professionally and personally through education, experience and networking.
Grand Pacific Resorts also participates in ARDA LEAPS, a program designed to develop and educate future leaders committed to serving ARDA and the shared vacation ownership industry. ARDA LEAPS stands for Leadership-Education-Action-Progression-Service. This one year program offers association leadership development for individuals at various management levels within ARDA member companies. To date, two GPR team members have completed the rigorous program.
“We are proud of our role in ARDA,” said Nigel Lobo. “As members of the timesharing community it is our duty to help shape best practices as well as attract and mentor new comers to our industry. Working with the AIF and its TIYP and the LEAPS program, we can make a positive impact on vacation ownership which benefits associates as well as our timeshare owners.”
Grand Pacific Resort (GPR) is one of the oldest and largest timeshare vacation ownership companies based in California. Serving over 70,000 owner-families every year, GPRM has developed and manages resorts in the United States and Canada.
