Opening of a New Bridge Expected to Boost Travel Between Cambodia and Vietnam

Hanoi, Vietnam, April 15, 2015 --(PR.com)-- On the 6th April 2015, the Tsubasa Bridge, crossing Mekong River, was opened for transportation. This 2.2 km long bridge links the two Cambodian provinces of Kandal and Prey Veng. As Prey Veng in Cambodia is a neighbour province of Vietnam, Tsubasa Bridge is expected to help increase traffics from one country to the other.

The news has been welcomed positively by Aurora Travel as it will reduce the travelling time between Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam, and Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia to approximately 3.5 hours. Before the opening of Tsubasa Bridge, such a trip would last a minimum of 5 hours or sometimes even more due to operational uncertainties of the ferry previously used to cross the Mekong River.

“For travelers to Cambodia as well as people who travel to Vietnam, the opening of the Tsubasa Bridge is good news as it will facilitate crossing the Mekong River and the border between those two countries. We can expect that tour operators in Vietnam and DMCs will take advantage of this new route to create new tour packages to Cambodia as well as tours combining Vietnam and Cambodia,” said Ms. Huyen, Operation Manager, Aurora Travel.
