ZTE Selects Ekioh's Twin Engine UI Browser
ZTE selects Ekioh's Twin Engine UI Browser for their next generation cost-effective IPTV set top boxes.
Cambridge, United Kingdom, April 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Ekioh is pleased to announce that ZTE has selected its Twin Engine UI Browser for their next generation cost-effective IPTV set top boxes. The joint solution has already been successful in securing the next phase of a rapidly expanding European network operator's rollout.
By combining the UI performance of SVG with the ubiquity of HTML5, Ekioh’s Twin Engine UI Browser is able to deliver excellent rendering performance and feature availability in one highly compact package. Its economical use of system resources enables ZTE to deliver a flexible cost-effective solution to its customers.
"ZTE has a strong reputation for meeting customer needs with flexible, reliable and cost effective products," said Wei Tang, Chief Engineer of home multimedia devices at ZTE. "Ekioh's innovative browser technology and excellent customer support made them an ideal partner for us to work with."
"Operators are keen to ensure a good return on their set top box investment," said Stephen Reeder, Commercial Director at Ekioh. "Combining the scale of ZTE with the flexibility of Ekioh's Twin Engine technology provides the ideal foundation to ensure that their investment will deliver."
Ekioh's Twin Engine technology has chalked up a number of licence wins in recent months as operators and middleware providers are recognising that HTML5 alone lacks the performance to deliver responsive and feature rich user interfaces on commercially viable set top box hardware.
