Since its founding in 2009, HHDR has rescued more than 4,000 dogs of all breeds and sizes. The organization is funded completely by donations, fundraisers, and adoption fees, and its staff is comprised primarily of volunteers.

HHDR's 3,000-square-foot facility at 6606 Kinne Road in Dewitt features indoor and outdoor kennels and runs. While the organization's commitment is to rescuing dogs from high-kill centers throughout the nation, it works closely with central New York area dog control officers, rescues, and shelters.
