Celebrate Mother’s Day This May 2015 on the New River Gorge
River Expeditions is excited to announce their newest whitewater rafting special with their first annual Mother’s Day Rafting Getaway.
Oak Hill, WV, April 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Some moms like shoes, some like diamonds, some like whitewater rafting, but the one thing they all love is brunch! So if your mom is the outdoorsy type, surprise her this Mother’s Day with a weekend getaway at River Expeditions. This fun-filled weekend not only includes a full day of whitewater rafting on Saturday, but also a delicious brunch on Sunday, followed by an afternoon at River Expeditions' adventure resort or in the New River Gorge for a taste of everything that southern West Virginia has to offer.
River Expeditions outfits daily trips down the New River Gorge from April-October, but May is one of the most beautiful and popular times to hit the water before the heat of summer really settles in. Rafting trips generally last for about 5-7 hours, including a waterside break for lunch. The ability to swim is helpful, but not required, and many “non-swimmers” embark on whitewater adventures every year. In addition to whitewater rafting, there are a variety of onsite and local outdoor activities, including rock climbing, ziplines, volleyball, horseback riding, paintball, and much, much more. Looking for something a little more low-key? Sit by the pool, visit local artisans or hike through the gorge for a touch of serenity.
“Moms are some of the most important people in our lives – so why not give them a unique getaway weekend?” says River Expeditions owner, Rick Johnson. “We can’t wait to welcome moms and families alike to experience the water in one of the most beautiful times of the year in West Virginia.”
River Expeditions is conveniently located a few hours from many major cities in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania – making it ideal for a weekend getaway. A variety of lodging options are available to suit every taste and budget. New or nervous to whitewater? No need – different levels of rafting are available, and all necessary safety equipment is provided, including a Coast Guard Approved Type V Life Jacket, Paddle and Helmet. Celebrate not only your own mom, but moms around the world with this fun-filled spring weekend!
