TouristsMeetTheLocals.com - Joining Locals and Visitors to Amsterdam
Weekly Wednesday mixer to unite tourists and residents in Amsterdam with Happy Hour Mixer, Motivational Speaker, Dancing.
Amsterdam, Netherlands, April 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Two groups that see each other daily--but rarely speak to each other--are Amsterdam’s tourists and her residents.
TouristsMeetTheLocals.com, an event in Luminaa.nl Club and Cafe in Leidseplein, plans to introduce these groups to each other, every Wednesday, in an event showcasing Amsterdam’s most elusive residents (and arguably the most interesting) Start-up Staff, Entrepreneurs, CEO’s, Graduate Students (and anyone else professional).
The idea comes from an Expat, Start-up Business Owner, who opted to follow the advice of the King of the Netherlands in the Monarch’s addresses to the Nation.
The event organizer, Daryl Hiro H., who is the Director of NoKaOi Marketing Services and a Motivational Speaker notes:
“The King said: ‘Be nice to people in your neighborhood, peace starts at home’.
"Being the wild tourist resort that it is, being nice to the 1000’s of travelers in Amsterdam daily is problematic, as they often are in a hurry, intoxicated or only able to communicate in broken English. Nevertheless, you get so many people that are single or business travelers, that, if they had the chance, they probably would like to meet some normal residents from the Netherlands.
"As such, we decided to pinpoint the locals who have least time to practice their Business English (but who need it the most to prosper), the CEOs and staff of the numerous Start-ups and Small Business Owners in the Amsterdam and The Netherlands.
"With the tech and start-up boom, the most interesting personalities are Entrepreneurs, Grad Students and CEOs. To lure them, we are offering a free, top-notch, customer service and motivational coaching sessions that hopefully will open a lot of eyes and fire-up those who live on a realizing a dream - startups."
Daryl Hiro H. has 25 years marketing and coaching experience in 13 countries and 5 languages. He has consulted 100’s of companies all over Europe and the USA to take a new look at their sales, customer service, networking and morale. Mr. Hiro says:
“If I can help the local talent directly… it’s a win-win for all.
“These are the best faces Amsterdam and the Netherlands can show to compete with the brilliant buildings and art that tourists seem to find much more interesting than the locals. While there are pub crawls, people on them are so drunk they aren’t approachable by locals and they wouldn’t remember much anyway.
"We want to get people to meet, socialize and find common ground. Those who want to stay for the Afterparty and 'Dance Moves Exchange' will see how dancing is a great release for stress and, according to research, excellent at reducing mental aging. Whether people come for the networking, coaching or dancing it’s up to them. We look forward to Big Wednesdays to be a big hit this year and are already looking for venues in Rotterdam.”
The event utilizes Club Luminaa, (Luminaa.nl ) with a covered patio for alfresco Happy Hour networking and cocktails and a brilliant interior for the Afterparty with a ‘Dance Moves Exchange’ where everyone gets to work on (and share) their best moves.
According to Bennie De Vries, Manager of Luminaa, the event’s Official Sponsor,
“We would love for residents to come for the ‘Happy Hour Borrel’ and see new fresh faces to meet. We can show off the best local brain-pool talent to visitors. Now, they can see the shinier side of Amsterdam. If they stay for the dancing, I’m sure longer-term friendships and business contacts will result.”
