Pitch DML Projects at Conference
The annual Digital Media and Learning Conference seeks applicants for its popular Ignite Talks program June 11 and 12.
Los Angeles, CA, April 17, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Got a great connected learning project you want the world to know about? The 2015 Digital Media and Learning Conference, or DML2015, wants to hear your pitch as part of its popular Ignite Talks program.
Deadline to apply is May 15. Those selected are given five minutes, and must use 20 slides with each slide advancing automatically after 15 seconds, forcing them to get the point, fast.
“This is a chance to go beyond being a serious academic and have fun,” said Andrew Slack, co-founder of the Harry Potter Alliance who will host the Ignites Talks June 11 and 12. “You can be funny, you can be ridiculous, you can be serious and impassioned. It’s your five minutes. Every year I go to the DML conference, I want to meet people and network. This is the ultimate opportunity to network because this is one of the only times at DML where everyone is in the same room, and they’re all watching you. So, instead of you working the room, the room is going to work you. Everyone’s going to want to talk to you after you’re done. Boom! Networking accomplished.”
Besides networking, Slack said the Ignite Talks force the speakers to “build internal clarity” about their projects. “You’re going to walk out more empowered as an educator, as an innovator, as a thinker,” he emphasized.
