Children - An Exhibition of Photography by Susan Fiebig
The Blue Goose Coffee House, located inside Horicon Bank will be hosting an exhibition of recent photography by local Fond du Lac artist, Susan Fiebig. There will be a free opening preview reception held on Friday, December 7th from 5:30 to 7 pm.
Fond du Lac, WI, November 23, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Susan Fiebig's exhibition entitled Children, features eight images from Jamaica, Mexico and New York City. The images of this exhibition sensitively display everyday life events of children living in impoverished conditions. They evoke the photography of Paul Strand or the celebrated National Geographic photographer, Steve McCurry. “This collection illustrates the innocence of those who rely on us to provide a safe, healthy world in which to live. Their faces remind us of the importance of freedom and equality for everyone on this earth,” states Fiebig.
Included in the collection are two photographs that were recently shown in important exhibitions. Boy in Window – New York City was chosen for the Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors Biennial 2007 at the Haggerty Museum of Art in Milwaukee, an exhibition that included 67 Wisconsin artists from over 800 entries. Another photograph, Three Siblings was selected as part of the San Francisco MoAD’s (Museum of African Diaspora) two-story mural.
Most viewers familiar with Fiebig’s work on permanent display in many Fond du Lac institutions will know her architectural studies. This collection is an extension of Fiebig’s aesthetic which, as Fiebig states, transforms “the mundane into the magical and the ordinary, extraordinary.”
Children will be on display through January 2008. There will be complimentary drinks and appetizers at the reception.
