What is the difference between CoolNerd's marketplace vs other online marketplaces?
CoolNerd is 100% 3D printing. Non-3D printing related products are not allowed. Other online marketplaces do have 3D printing sections, however they can be small and do not always give consumers a true variety of options. The goal is to give consumers a variety of options through the platform. Consumers in the marketplace will have an opportunity to save money on future purchases by earning points and referral fees, features that other online marketplaces do not offer consumers. Consumers also have an option to ask questions to sellers, which will be public. The aim is to increase efficiency and sales. In the coming months, CoolNerd will be reaching out to manufacturers and resellers to give the marketplace a trial run.
What are the fees associated with becoming a CoolNerd seller?
CoolNerd offers two seller accounts.
A no monthly fee accounts with a 99 cent per sale + 15% sale commission.
A $39.95 per month, after a 6 month free trial account with a 8% sale commission. There are optional fees for additional exposure on their website.
Why should sellers adopt the CoolNerd marketplace vs having their own website?
To operate an e-commerce website can be expensive. Most of the expenditures outside of the cost of goods is marketing. Unless your product is a hot seller, you are spending 15-50% of your cost of sale in marketing alone. At the current time, CoolNerd is not allowing used products to be sold in their marketplace.

Right now, CoolNerd only caters to US sellers and buyers. They will consider international sellers as their marketplace grows to accommodate international buyers.
