Saddleback Memorial’s Center for Advanced Wound Healing Recognized for Excellence in Clinical Outcomes and Patient Satisfaction
Laguna Hills, CA, April 23, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Saddleback Memorial's Center for Advanced Wound Healing, located in Mission Viejo, CA has received the prestigious Healogics Robert A. Warriner II, M.D., Center of Excellence Award. The award recognizes wound care centers that consistently exceed standards for exceptional quality.
Saddleback Memorial's Center for Advanced Wound Healing has met Center of Distinction quality standards by achieving patient satisfaction rates over 90 percent and a healing rate of 95 percent, among other quality measures. Additionally, of the 500 wound care centers in the U.S., Saddleback Memorial is one of only seven centers to receive this honor for six consecutive years, placing it in the top 1 percent in the nation.
“We are honored to be recognized for delivering such a high level of care to our patients,” says Steve Geidt, chief executive officer for Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. “This award is evidence that we are successfully meeting our mission to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families and our communities through innovation and the pursuit of excellence.”
Saddleback Memorial's Center for Advanced Wound Healing treats chronic wounds caused by diabetes, poor circulation, radiation treatment, pressure injuries or other conditions, for more than 500 patients annually. The center provides a comprehensive outpatient program designed to speed healing, preserve limbs and prevent the recurrence of challenging wounds. Anyone with a wound that has not started to heal in two weeks or is not completely healed in six weeks may be a candidate for advanced care through the Center.
The specialists at Saddleback Memorial's Center for Advanced Wound Healing are highly trained in wound management and in treating challenging, chronic wounds. They work together with the patient's primary care physician to create unique programs tailored to each individual. The fully equipped Center has three hyperbaric oxygen chambers. Many patients benefit from this type of therapy as part of their healing plan as it helps healthy cells divide, grow and fight infection.
“Each year, nearly six million people are diagnosed with a chronic, non-healing wound,” says Robert Kingston, M.D., medical director for Saddleback Memorial's Center for Advanced Wound Healing. “I'm pleased to be part of an exceptional Center that offers an array of treatment options and advanced technologies that help our patients get back to doing the things they love to do.”
