ODTUG Women in Technology Scholar Announced

ODTUG, a global user group focused on education for the Oracle professional, has selected its first Women in Technology Scholar, Prachi Sharma. Sharma will join ODTUG at the Kscope15 conference June 21-15 in Hollywood, FL.

Wilmington, NC, April 26, 2015 --(PR.com)-- ODTUG, a global user group focused on education for the Oracle professional, has selected its first Women in Technology Scholar, Prachi Sharma.

Sharma came to the United States with $400 and a dream to be fluent in technology. After obtaining her Master of Technology Management degree and holding positions with several IT companies as an Oracle developer, Sharma has forged a path toward success.

She is currently an architect in the Oracle space for General Mills, where she operates as a team expert on Oracle technologies and develops components; Sharma strives to eliminate and automate manual tasks for the team where appropriate and possible. Her motivations for applying for the scholarship include creating a strong network of like-minded women and men, developing professionally and having a platform to demonstrate that, finding and becoming a mentor, and lastly, establishing her personal brand.

“I am very grateful for this opportunity,” Sharma said. “I feel very proud and honored.”

ODTUG opened the call for nominations for the WIT Scholar in February as a way to offer learning opportunities to an underserved minority in the technology world. Sharma will join ODTUG at the Kscope15 conference June 21-25 in Hollywood, Florida. There she will participate in a special Women in Technology event.

ODTUG is an independent, not-for-profit, global organization with more than 30,000 members worldwide. For more information, please visit www.odtug.com.
