YMCA of the Rockies Utilizes ProfitWatch Call Accounting
ProfitWatch Call Accounting tracks all the calls of the YMCA’s lodges and cabins to generate guest call bill back, alert notifications of phone abuse, and emergency call alarms.
Fort Lauderdale, FL, April 29, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The YMCA of the Rockies has a 108 year history of putting Christian principles into practice through programs that focus on building healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. They accomplish their goals by providing it all; countless hiking trails, roller skating, horse-riding stables, swimming, basketball, miniature golf, and over 1000 acres nestled within the Colorado Mountains. Their Estes Park Center is the largest family resort in the world with 228 cabins, ten lodges, three sites, and another five lodges and 58 cabins at their nearby Snow Mountain Ranch site.
Their combined locations serve an impressive 180,000 vacationers a year, employ more than 1000 staff members, and utilize over 50,000 volunteer hours. Keeping up with the communications of the facilities could be tough, but Gordon Ulrickson, Director of Information Systems and Technology of the YMCA Rockies, has utilized ProfitWatch Call Accounting from Metropolis Technologies for two decades.
“I love ProfitWatch,” explained Ulrickson, who cited stability and responsive support as the reason he recommends the system to other properties. “We’ve had it for many years… ProfitWatch is one of those software programs you could build a room around it and not have a door. It runs forever.”
ProfitWatch Call Accounting tracks all the calls of the YMCA’s lodges and cabins to generate guest call bill back, alert notifications of phone abuse, and emergency call alarms. These internal 911 alerts help the YMCA to keep their guests safe by notifying staff anytime an emergency call is dialed so their on-site response team can immediately send aid.
“If a guest were to dial 911 from their room, we use ProfitWatch to alert on-grounds first responders; they would be heading to the room to assess the problem long before the ambulance could arrive.” Ulrickson takes the safety of his guests very seriously, and keeps up with the national news surrounding Kari’s law. When the media story hit the news, he immediately updated their phone system “…so if a guest dials 911, or 9-911, the call will go out. We proactively made that change.”
The YMCA has also found ProfitWatch’s toll fraud alerts useful to detect unauthorized phone usage. When Ulrickson discovered that a staff member was making international calls from empty guest room cabins, he was able to make changes with their reservation system so that future instances of abuse were blocked.
“We have alerts setup so that high dollar phone calls notify our controller… If a staff member were to be in a cabin and dial an international call, ProfitWatch would flag that call and who made it, from what extension. We’ve disciplined staff over it in the past, and even let them go because of this and other performance reasons.”
In preparation for their busy summer season, Ulrickson will be upgrading his classic ProfitWatch System to the new ProfitWatch SL platform, which will give him even more automation options, new reports, and additional data he can use to make actionable insights on the communication structure of their facilities, including new custom threshold alerts. When he is ready to make the switch over to the new system, Metropolis’ support department will be ready to assist him and will remotely access his live system to update the new configuration so he has little to no down time.
Ulrickson concluded, “Metropolis support has always been very helpful in the past. I have only had to make a couple of calls, but when we have needed them, their help has always taken no time at all. When I upgraded our server to Windows 7, they had us up and running in under 10 minutes… I am sure our experience with the migration will be no different and I am absolutely convinced the new platform will be very beneficial.”
