CUMAC Celebrates 30 Years of Service, Hosts Logo Design Contest

Paterson, NJ, April 29, 2015 --(PR.com)-- CUMAC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting hunger in New Jersey, is celebrating 30 years of service this year. As part of the anniversary celebration CUMAC is inviting local artists to participate in a contest to redesign its logo and give the organization an updated look. The contest is open to the public and submissions will be accepted from May 1-June 30. The top design will be featured on CUMAC’s website and promotional materials, and the winner will be invited to an unveiling event in the fall.

“CUMAC is much more than a food pantry. We love our logo, but it doesn’t give the full picture,” says Rev. Patricia Bruger, CUMAC Executive Director. “We want our new logo to capture and convey our mission, which has really evolved over the years.”

Over the past three decades CUMAC has expanded its work from a small church pantry to a multi-service agency serving over 40,000 community members annually. CUMAC’s programs include food pantries, job training, disaster relief, countywide depot services, supportive housing, and partner pantry support. CUMAC also leads a collection of pantries called the Community Food Coalition and advocates for anti-hunger legislation and meal programs around the state.

“This is an exciting milestone for CUMAC, and we just want the community to be a part of it,” says Bruger. CUMAC will be sharing many of the designs on their website and on social media during the contest to give community members the opportunity to vote on designs and to be part of the process.

Contestants can submit their design entries to logo@cumacecho.org. Contest rules, design specifications and prizes can be found on CUMAC’s contest page, www.cumacecho.org/logo.html. All designs must be submitted by June 30, 2015, at 11:59 p.m. EST to be considered for selection. A committee and online voting will determine the finalists this summer and the winning design will be announced following the review period.

The logo design contest is just one of several events planned to celebrate CUMAC’s milestone anniversary. Additional events include The Halloween 5K to Scare Hunger Away race being held on Sunday, October 25 in Woodland Park, NJ and the HELP Dinner slated for Tuesday, November 17 at The Tides in North Haledon.
