Mr. D. Geno Brunton Appointed as U.N. Ambassador to the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean
New York, NY, April 30, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Mr. D. Geno Brunton has recently accepted a post as Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary to the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). Appointed by the U.N. NGO, Global 2000 (2010) International, Mr. Brunton assumes the position as Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of the Advisory Board for the United Nations NGO, Global 2000(2010) International and shall represent the NGO on all U.N. related business for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Mr. Brunton shall serve to direct the finance activities for Global 2000 and provide Fund Raising insight for the Board of Advisors of Global 2000(2010) International. He shall also recruit and recommend new Advisory Board members to the Board of Directors and represent the NGO at all United Nations conferences, seminars and meetings, including General Assembly, Economic and Social Council and Security Council Meetings of the United Nations pertaining to Latin America & the Caribbean.
Global 2000 is a Non-Profit NGO and Special Consultant to the United Nations and maintains an elite status among the “Top 40” U.N. NGO’s that present in front of the World Bank and the United Nations forum on global economic needs. Global 2000 is one of a handful of NGOs with “Special Consultative Status” with the U.N. Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and one of thirty one NGO’s associated with the U.N. Public Information Department. Global 2000 is an active member of the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations (WANGO).

Mr. Brunton’s acceptance of the position as Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary to the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), came after a lot of deliberation by the Ambassador, and although the post provides immediate diplomatic status to the Ambassador, it also requires him to serve Global 2000 in its interests and responsibilities to the U.N. at the World Bank, IMF and European Investment Bank. Mr. Brunton commented, “I take this appointment very seriously and applaud Global 2000 and Dr. Morris’ efforts and commitment to finding solutions to the World’s less fortunate, easing the pain of living in poverty, and providing access to clean drinking water, medicine and food, whether it is disaster related or simply a systemic way of life. I will work closely with ECLAC to ensure that poorer countries, townships and villages in Latin America and the Caribbean get the required assistance through Global 2000.”
