Florida Accident Attorney, Jim Dodson Offers $1,500 College Scholarship
Clearwater, FL, May 01, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Clearwater accident attorney, Jim Dodson, understands the value of a college education while realizing earning a degree can be a huge financial burden for a student and their family. While a student at Florida State University, Jim often worked three jobs a semester to pay for his own education. With this in mind, he decided to establish the annual Jim Dodson Law College Scholarship.
The scholarship is slated to be awarded for the first time in August 2015. The college student who is selected will receive $1,500 to help defray the costs of higher education. To be considered for the scholarship, a student must be a Florida resident, although the applicant may be attending college out-of-state. To be eligible, a student is required to have completed 12 hours of college courses and have maintained a 3.0 GPA or above. Applicants must create a video, no more than 90 seconds in length, demonstrating their idea on how to improve the safety of cyclists, pedestrians or vehicle drivers (or all three). The winning video will be featured on Jim Dodson Law’s website and on Facebook in hopes it will help increase safety awareness.
“Each of us walk, bike or ride in a car. I’m challenging candidates to be creative on how to make their community safer. We will all benefit from the ideas of their bright minds,” said attorney Dodson.
Dodson is an avid cyclist, traffic safety advocate and accident attorney, who has seen firsthand how safety and education can help reduce traffic accidents. He is the author of several popular consumer guides including the Florida Bicycle Accident Handbook and the Florida Pedestrian Accident Guide. Each provide information on safety and accident prevention as well as what to know if the worst happens and you are involved in a collision. Attorney Dodson’s consumer guides are available at no cost at www.JimDodsonLaw.com.
