Network of Supply Chain Women Announces AWESOME Legendary Leader Award Honorees 2015
AWESOME (Achieving Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain, Operations, Management and Education) announces the winners of its 2015 AWESOME Legendary Leadership (ALL) Award. The 2015 honorees are Beth Ford, Executive Vice President, Chief Supply Chain and Operations Officer of Land O’Lakes and Debbie Lentz, Senior Vice President, Chief Supply Chain Officer of Toys“R”Us, Inc. An award ceremony will take place at the AWESOME women’s supply chain leadership symposium on May 6-7 in New Brunswick, NJ.
New Brunswick, NJ, April 30, 2015 --(PR.com)-- AWESOME (Achieving Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain, Operations, Management and Education) announced that two women supply chain leaders will receive the AWESOME Legendary Leadership (ALL) Award at its annual Symposium taking place on May 6-7 at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, NJ. The award honorees are Beth Ford, Executive Vice President, Chief Supply Chain and Operations Officer of Land O’Lakes and Debbie Lentz, Senior Vice President, Chief Supply Chain Officer of Toys“R”Us, Inc.
“The ALL Award recognizes women supply chain leaders who have achieved extraordinary professional excellence and addressed challenges for women in our field,” said Dr. Nancy Nix, AWESOME’s executive director. “These leaders have advanced the landscape of supply chain leadership, raising visibility for the possibilities that exist for women today. As Chief Supply Chain Officers, Debbie and Beth represent the importance and impact of supply chain roles in business today.”
Performing the dual role of Chief Supply Chain and Operations Officer as Executive Vice President with Land O’Lakes, Beth Ford is responsible for all supply chain and operating functions – from sourcing to customer delivery as well as IT, engineering, R&D, and manufacturing. Prior to her current role, Ford progressed to top executive roles in leading companies across a range of industries, including chemicals, oil and gas, consumer goods and publishing. Ford is a member of the Board of Directors of Clearwater Paper Corporation and PACCAR, and serves on boards at Columbia University and Iowa State University, as well as being involved in local Minneapolis organizations.
Debbie Lentz draws upon her 30 years of supply chain, information systems, global procurement and operations experience to fulfill her responsibilities as Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer of Toys“R”Us, Inc. Before joining Toys“R”Us, Lentz spent 13 years at Kraft Foods Group, where she served in both U.S and international roles and advanced to the position of Senior Vice President, Customer Service and Logistics. Lentz was presented with the Robert D. Pashek award for significant contributions to the practice and development of supply chain by Penn State University in 2008. She serves on the Board of Directors of the International Women’s Forum Leadership Foundation.
The ALL Award will be presented on May 6 at the annual AWESOME Symposium, which will feature discussions and collaborations to support the advancement of women leaders in supply chain. The two-day conference will feature networking and interactive dialogue with a variety of industry leaders, authors and educators.
Ford and Lentz will be interviewed by Susan B. Purdum, Instructor in Supply Chain Management for Smeal College of Business and Faculty Affiliate for Penn State’s Center for Supply Chain Research.
