Montgomery County Graphic Designer Honored for Advocacy of Children’s Mental Health

Robyn Quinter to be presented with an award for her longtime advocacy on behalf of Children's Mental Health.

Brookeville, MD, May 01, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Robyn Quinter, a resident of Brookeville, will be honored this week for a decade of volunteer work to support children’s mental health initiatives. The Maryland Coalition of Families for Children’s Mental Health (MCF) will recognize Quinter’s efforts with its highest honor, the prestigious Jan Yocum dé Calderon Advocacy Award, at its 15th Annual Luncheon Celebration in Baltimore on Friday, May 1.

Quinter served as President of the MCF Board of Directors for six years and four additional years on the Board. Since 1999, MCF has offered education, information and advocacy to family members throughout the state caring for a child with mental health needs. During Quinter’s tenure, MCF transformed from a small non-profit with a handful of employees in one office to a staff of more than 60 providing direct services to families from offices throughout the state. The Columbia-based non-profit currently has a budget of more than $2 million.

Since 2008, Quinter has been a member of the Citizens Advisory Board of John L. Gildner Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents, a Rockville residential treatment center for children with emotional disabilities, and she devotes time and effort to several other non-profit organizations.

A third generation entrepreneur, Quinter is President of Quinter Design, http://www.quinterdesign.com a graphic design and marketing firm “on a mission to rid the world of ineffective and unattractive marketing materials.” In 2012, the firm was ranked 21st in the state on the Gazette Newspapers list of Maryland’s Top 53 Businesses.

Quinter was honored with the 2008 Greater Olney-Sandy Spring ATHENA Award, presented to acknowledge her business success, her community contributions and her mentoring of other women in the business community. She was also named one of Maryland’s 2010 Top 100 Women by The Daily Record. She attended Kenyon College in Gambier, OH and is a graduate of the College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, College Park, and the Maryland Family Leadership Institute.

Quinter resides in Brookeville with her husband and business partner, John. They are parents of two grown children, Dess and Nicholas, and grandparents of six grandchildren.
