Lifestyle products designer Magicubie launches iMbrief today. iMbrief, a 21th century smart briefcase, features security, mobile power and data storage- digital as well as physical, the three things prized by mobile workers. Besides being functional, iMbrief is a fashion statement in its own right.
“iMbrief brings to life those enigmatic briefcases in spy flicks,” said Max Chang, creator of the iMbrief. “We want to make more than just a fancy gadget withstanding all abuses in movies. iMbrief, a tough functional office accessory managed by app, complements and accentuates the modern mobile lifestyle.”
Featuring smooth aluminum-alloy shell, iMbrief comes in gray, black and rich burdundy. The hidden handle, out-of-sight shoulder strap rings, anti-theft lock slot, and ample internal space all exemplify an quiet elegance. Bluetooth speakers, discretely tucked in on the sides, provide alerts for calendar reminders and play music from a nearby mobile device.
A triple-layer security system is in place to safeguard valuable contents inside. First, a state-of-the-art fingerprint access system ensures private access. Second, access can be managed through mobile app over a secure connection. The briefcase locks itself when the connection with the owner’s mobile device is unexpectedly severed. Third, a built-in Kensington Lock slot allows tethering securely to a post, granting the owner temporary leave from iMbrief.
Any unauthorized attempt at opening the iMbrief will be greeted with a loud audible warning. If misplaced, the built-in GPS ensures that the iMbrief is trackable. The GPS also keeps a log of the briefcase’s tracks, allowing for quick retracing of any route.
iMbrief is an on-the-go power source for mobile devices, through the two external USB ports. Devices can also stay inside the briefcase, charging through either of the two internal USB ports. LEDs inside the briefcase light up the interior, making finding things in the dark that much easier.
