The Gateway Family YMCA Announces Rahway Branch Executive Director

Rahway, NJ, May 17, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Gateway Family YMCA announces the addition of Rodger D. Koerber in the position of Rahway Branch Executive Director. As Branch Executive Director, Mr. Koerber will oversee day-to-day operations at the Rahway Branch, located at 1564 Irving Street, Rahway.

According to Melynda A. Mileski, EVP/COO, "The Gateway Family YMCA is excited to announce that Rodger D. Koerber has joined our team in this important position. Along with extensive experience, Rodger brings strong leadership and vision to the Association.” Rodger was most recently in the position of CEO at the Ocean County YMCA. His previous experience also includes the YMCA of Western Monmouth County and the Altavisa YMCA in Virginia. Mr. Koerber stated, “It is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a YMCA that is progressive in its vision and plays such a vital role in the development of youth and fostering healthy living. I’m excited to be a part of a YMCA that gives back to our community in so many different ways.”

Mr. Koerber holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, with a concentration in Sports Management. “Rodger comes to The Gateway Family YMCA with vast experience in managing YMCAs. He is poised to take the Rahway Branch to the next level," added Krystal R. Canady, CEO of The Gateway Family YMCA. The Gateway Family YMCA completed a $3.4 million renovation of the Rahway Branch this year, renovating 16,938 square feet within the branch.

“The newly renovated facility is beautiful and will provide plenty of opportunities for our youth, families and community to connect and grow, especially in the realm of the arts,” stated Rodger D. Koerber. Included in the renovation at the Rahway Branch is the addition of Artist Lofts and also expanded arts programs. “I am very excited for the future of the Rahway Branch, and also for The Gateway Family YMCA as an association. Our relationship with the community spans over 100 years, and there is so much more to come,” added Melynda A. Mileski, EVP/COO.
