Talk Radio World Record Attempt to Honor Veterans

Tucson, AZ, May 13, 2015 --(PR.com)-- This Memorial Day weekend PowerTalk1210 radio in Tucson will remember those who have sacrificed for our freedoms by attempting to set a new world record for most interviews in a 24-hour period. The station will have Jim Parisi on the air from Sunday, May 24th at ten AM and stay on through Monday the 25th at 10 AM, trying to interview more than 350 people in one day.

Money will be raised for local Veterans groups during the attempt. The first 50 or more interviews will be with local Veterans as well, face-to-face in the PowerTalk studios on Broadway Blvd. in Tucson.

“Our Veterans lay down their lives for us. They sacrificed so that we may enjoy freedoms, one of which is freedom of speech, and broadcasters should never forget that,” says station manager Jim Parisi. “So a handful of dedicated people at our station will be slightly uncomfortable trying to function for 24-hours without sleep, honoring our servicemen and women, past and present. It’s a simple gesture and the least we can do.”

PowerTalk1210 will be accepting donations at the station, and everyone who stops by will get a couple of minutes of air time, even if it’s just to promote their company or say hello to the city. Food and beverages will be provided by local restaurants. Everyone is invited to stop by during the attempt, at 2919 E. Broadway Blvd, suite 235, Tucson, AZ 85716.

PowerTalk and Sports is Tucson’s newest radio station, with experienced local radio hosts as well as Fox Sports Talk. It is also the home of the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals and the NBA’s Phoenix Suns.

The Guinness World Records people have outlined some difficult rules for the attempt. Each set of questions must be different, and the clock cannot be paused at any time. The entire attempt will be broadcast on PowerTalk 1210 AM radio, and will be streamed on the website at www.PowerTalk1210.com. A video stream will also be up on the website and the station Facebook page, www.facebook.com/powertalk1210.

The PowerTalk station was born to give people in Southern Arizona a station that doesn’t try to push partisan politics. A place for independent thinkers to discuss ideas without the fear of being put down for their views. Thus the station’s slogan: PowerTalk1210. The Power to Think for Yourself!
