Scottsdale Culinary Institute Welcomes New VP of Academic Affairs
Scottsdale, AZ, November 28, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Scottsdale Culinary Institute (SCI) recently announced the appointment of John Linville as the new vice president of academic affairs. In his new role, Linville will provide leadership and direction for SCI academics, and facilitate the growth of the school through expanded and improved curricula, as well as new programs.
“John understands that students enroll in our Le Cordon Bleu-affiliated degree programs because they have a unique passion for culinary arts and hospitality. Our students are looking for a quality education and, as vice president of academic affairs, he will be instrumental in meeting – and exceeding those expectations,” said Tracey Epel, interim president of SCI.
Linville arrives at the school with extensive background in education, specifically career schools. He has served as director of education, responsible for developing and refining certificate, associate and bachelor degree programs in General Education, Criminal Justice, Information Technology and Allied Health. Linville has held various positions within the school communities he has served, including faculty member, educational supervisor, program chair and associate dean of academic affairs.
Prior to his career in education, Linville served in the U.S. Air Force, where he achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, the highest rank possible for an enlisted person and received his Associate of Science Degree in Aircraft Maintenance Technology from the Community College of the Air Force in Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. Linville holds a Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and a Master of Science in Computer System (e-commerce and web design) from City University in Seattle.
