Sacramento 6th Grader Publishes First Novel

Sacramento, CA, November 30, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Matthew Reade is a talented kid. He is a good pianist and he is at the top of his class. Even knowing these things, you would never guess that he is a published author.

Reade wrote his first novel, called John: Son of a Commander, after reading about the young author of the popular book Eragon. "When I found out that Christopher Paolini was under sixteen years old when he wrote his first book, I wanted to do it too," recalls Matthew.

Armed with only a laptop, Matthew completed his novel and published it on Lulu, an online publisher, in October 2007. He was very pleased with the first copy. "I felt so elated when I held that first copy in my hands and gently picked through the pages. It was amazing!"

John: Son of a Commander is a historical fiction novel about a young American man named John who is searching for schooling during the Napoleonic Wars. During his search, he travels to Paris and meets King Napoleon of France, who appoints him as an advisor. The seemingly easy job turns to turmoil when John finds out that someone wants him dead. This book is very suspenseful and you won't leave the edge of your seat until the very end.

Matthew doesn't plan to stop with just his first book. He is planning on writing many more novels in the near future. "I am now writing two books, and I am looking forward to many more," says Matthew enthusiastically.

You can find Matthew's book on Amazon.com, but he recommends the direct address of www.lulu.com/content/921114 . You can visit his newsletter by going to readecompanies.com.

Matthew Reade lives in West Sacramento with his family. He enjoys reading, golf, and video games.
