The stories in Indian Tales come from a different region in India from Punjab in the north to Tamil Nadu in the south. Read about magical spirits in the mountains, action and adventure, sneaky robbers and brave heroines in the heart of the Indus valley. It’s a fun way for children in elementary grades to explore India for Social Studies.

The U.K. illustrator Christopher Corr has lived in India for many years. He completed his Masters at the Royal College of Art in London and has illustrated many picture books. He worked on the Royal Mail millennium stamp on the UN Peace-keeping Force in Bosnia, and on projects for London Transport, National Aids Trust, Body Shop, Habitat and Ikea.

The Canadian author Shenaaz Nanji born in Kenya is of Indian heritage. She holds an MFA in writing for children and young adults from Vermont College and has written several books for children. Her book Treasure for Lunch was featured as Our Choice Award 2001 by the Canadian Children's Book Centre and An Alien in my House was a nominee for the Blue Spruce Award and Ross Annett Award for Children’s Literature.
