29 Year Old to Set New Guinness World Record for Youngest Female Traveler

29 year old is set to break new Guinness World Record for youngest female traveler to visit every country in the world. She is running an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds to create a travel series documenting the entire journey.

Los Angeles, CA, May 26, 2015 --(PR.com)-- A Los Angeles resident has taken on an ambitious Guinness world record attempt to be the youngest woman to visit every country in the world.

Originally from Greenwood, Indiana, Melissa Roy, 29, has launched an Indiegogo campaign raising funds to create a new travel series documenting her epic journey. The project is open to contributors for only 35 days.

Roy's goals go beyond the world record, however, as she wishes not only to visit each country but to be an American ambassador of goodwill and hope. She believes in the importance of solidarity of mankind and feels travel is single-handedly the best way to achieve this.

A daughter of a single mother from a minority background, Roy hopes to educate and inspire young women of all racial and income backgrounds that they too can explore the world on their own, discovering along the way the incredible lessons of other cultures, connecting them back to who they are.

Roy has been to 71 countries on her own on a shoestring budget, “I want to show the world that it doesn’t matter where you come from or how much money you have. All you need is an open heart and a desire to connect with others, to understand them. A little bit of empathy goes a long way.”

To document her world record breaking attempt Roy hopes to raise $35,000 to hire a small film crew to follow her on her travels. Details on where the money goes and the perks offered are outlined on her campaign page.
