Should We Establish a Santamas?

Atlanta, GA, November 29, 2007 --(PR.com)-- In Santa Claus, Jesus, the Duel, author and talk show host P. Marie explains why Santa Claus and Jesus Christ should not be sharing the same holiday.

Outskirts Press is pleased to announce the publication of Santa Claus, Jesus, the Duel by Atlanta talk show host and stress management specialist P. Marie.

“Christmas is so commercialized that people forget the reason for the season,” says Marie. “Santa should not be celebrated along with Jesus; they should not be sharing the same holiday. According to history, Santa Claus had a birth date. Jesus had a birth day. There is a difference.”

In an excerpt from Santa Claus, Jesus, the Duel, Marie summarizes her beliefs:

I called you all here today because I have a problem with the celebration of Christmas and Santa Claus on the same day. I am so tired of the commercialism of our Lord and Savior. We have to find out how to separate the birth of Christ from Santa Claus. Every day should be Christmas; every day Christ lives. We only see Santa once a year. Jesus is year round.

This will make a difference in the nation of every human being. We can call Santa Claus season Santamas. We can leave Christmas as is. Our children are confused and they need to understand the difference. They need to know that Santa Claus is not Christmas. Santa Claus, Kris Kringle, or whoever he is, was born around December in the sixth century AD. It has nothing to do with the birth of Christ…

Santa Claus, Jesus, the Duel takes a unique look at the history of Christmas while challenging the reader’s belief system. You will either find yourself arguing against the author’s assumptions, or applauding her bravery for writing about a topic many of us have secretly thought about but never discussed aloud. In any case, you won’t soon forget Santa Claus, Jesus, the Duel.
