Garden Grove, CA, May 31, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Saint-Gobain Seals showcased their wide range of sealing solutions for the oil and gas industry at Booth 190 at the Industrial Valve Summit (IVS) in Bergamo, Italy. The summit, which was held from May 27 to 28, is a biennial forum that gathers decision makers involved in valve technologies and flow control solutions to discuss technical issues, future technology and practical knowledge and experience. A first-time exhibitor at this show, Saint-Gobain Seals has been working with many key oil and gas partners for the past 40 years, concentrating on integrated co-design, functional precision and performance protection. Their well-known OmniSeal® PTFE seals have been proven to be extremely effective, covering applications that range from cryogenic to high pressure and high temperature (HPHT) for engineered valves in the upstream and downstream sectors.
To fulfill increasing performance requirements for engineered valves, the company has invested in their internal teams and processes. During the design process, their engineering team utilizes FEA analysis to further optimize their seal designs and their research and development team has focused on application testing capabilities such as fugitive emissions, HPHT and cryogenic. In doing so, Saint-Gobain Seals ensures their customers’ reliability through pre-validated design and provides confidence over the lifetime of their solutions.
Not only has Saint-Gobain Seals been involved in engineering solutions for valves, but also other critical oil and gas applications such as engineered subsea and topside valves, hydraulic couplings, FPSO turret swivels, pumps and compressors, gas turbines, downhole tools, transfer systems and subsea equipment. In order to meet future challenges for fugitive emissions, they developed a new single stem sealing solution, which is targeted to lower fugitive emissions (LFE) within ON/OFF valves and create a more environmentally-friendly option for manufacturers who are dealing with stringent regulatory and legislative requirements that impact environmental health and safety. Their LFE sealing solution passed leakage tightness of Class BH and endurance class CO1 (500 cycles) from -50°C to 160°C according to the ISO 15848 quality standard.
At the IVS summit, they shared their expertise in deep and ultra-deep water production, high pressure and high temperature conditions, harsh chemicals, rapid gas decompression resistance, long durability at extreme temperature and sour gas concentrations, proprietary Fluoroloy® fluoropolymer compounds qualified to NORSOK M-710 and API 6A F.1.13 specifications, metal energizers NACE MR01-075 approved alloys for use in sour gas service, cryogenic temperatures and designs compliant with low fugitive emission international standards ISO15848 and Shell MESC SPE 77-312.
