Steelers' MVP Le'Veon Bell Motivates Hometown Student Athletes at Free Elite Exposure Camp in Columbus, Ohio

Over 200 attendees joined the All Pro running back at his high school alma mater for the free camp.

Columbus, OH, June 04, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Pittsburgh Steelers Le’Veon Bell returned to his hometown to host a free football camp for 200 high school varsity players at his alma mater, Groveport Madison High School, in Columbus Ohio.

Le’Veon believes there is an abundance of homegrown talent in Columbus and created the camp to assist those student athletes in getting exposure to top area college coaches.

Local high school and college coaches took campers through a series of collegiate style drills, key football fundamentals, timed performance drills, position specific techniques and conditioning methods.

During lunch the campers participated in a Chalk Talk session that included Coach Bill Conley, head coach at Ohio Dominican University and former coach at Groveport Madison High. Coach Conley provided campers with essential tools on taking their game to the next level, emphasizing the dedication and focus that is needed to succeed. Attorney Adisa Bakari, Le’Veon’s agent, provided harsh statistics of the number of players that actually make it to the NFL. He told the group that their primary focus should be on education, “You may not end up being a pro football player but you can be a professional at something.”

Le’Veon used the opportunity to tell the campers his story and to encourage them to dream big. “These young guys see my on-field success on TV and consider me a 'celebrity,' but I hope they realize that I am no different from them.” Bell added, “If they are willing to work hard, stay persistent in going after their dreams, and keep a positive attitude, they will be successful on and off the field.”

Le’Veon is passionate about supporting his community and will continue his mission to empower young student athletes with a series of events that will launch in Pittsburgh during the upcoming season.
